Our son has just graduated from the Junior MBA by Navin Valrani at Arcadia School, Dubai. As a family of budding entrepreneurs, we saw enormous value in the curriculum and were very excited to see our son embrace life-learning topics he wouldn’t normally see in school. It is every parents dream to see your child succeed in studies; and beyond that we seek for kids to have a real life experience and utilize their skills to progress in life through entrepreneurship and innovation. Junior MBA is a unique program that encourages creativity and builds enthusiasm. My daughter has been involved for the past 2 years with the program: it developed her critical thinking, her understanding of the marketing and business principles and encouraged her to present in a committee. This built up both her public speaking skills and confidence; and also made her really pay attention to all real life concepts. It was an extreme honour to be the Founding Assistant Teacher of the region’s first Junior MBA programme taught in Arcadia. As much as I enjoyed teaching, I learnt a lot from every session. A 6-7 year old student presenting his/her business idea in front of the class was always a proud moment for the founder and me. ‘The Price is Right’ class activity was a super hit among the students. I was so happy and pleased to observe and attend the Junior MBA programme this year. The sessions were very encouraging for students to build an entrepreneurial spirit. The programme helped them get updated on computer tools and applications, described some of the basic acronyms about financing and banking, and also presented the success of Apple’s long journey to reach their current position in the market. The programme helped the students to think big and imagine their future. It taught them to be “gritty” (with passion and perseverance to achieve their long-term goals). It encouraged them to build meaningful relationships through team activities. The Junior MBA is introducing and preparing a new generation of well-rounded young businesspeople. I’m interested in the Junior MBA programme because I and you can come up with ideas together. You and myself can start a business by starting off with, for example, a pair of shoes. You can probably add a feature like a rocket shoes. If you pay someone AED 10 and then you can double it for people who want it. If you don’t do well, then double it again. If you get enough money, you can make another invention and get more money or go to a different country and get more people and more money.

Today’s class was amazing for my daughter as well. As soon as she sat in the car she showed me her spreadsheet and was so proud of herself for putting all those numbers in with the formulae taught by you. It is every parents dream to see your child succeed in studies; and beyond that we seek for kids to have a real life experience and utilize their skills to progress in life through entrepreneurship and innovation. Junior MBA is a unique program that encourages creativity and builds enthusiasm. My daughter has been involved for the past 2 years with the program: it developed her critical thinking, her understanding of the marketing and business principles and encouraged her to present in a committee. This built up both her public speaking skills and confidence; and also made her really pay attention to all real life concepts. She is constantly seeking the niche for new products and services for her generation. This program should be taught across all schools.
I love that the children get an insight into business at such a young age, this was one of the reasons that we chose Arcadia. My daughter particularly loves the annual Junior MBA competition and coming up with business ideas and plans of her own. It is amazing seeing her progressing every year. The Junior MBA program at Arcadia is an amazing and unique concept to teach the children about the basics of business very early in life. The course gives them an awareness on what to keep in mind when thinking of a business and its operations. The business plan competition is a great way to help children apply the concepts that they learn in class. Arcadia’s leadership team should be really proud that some other schools in Dubai are already thinking of introducing similar courses in their curriculum too.

She has been able to use the points of your engaging lessons for her school work as well. Her confidence and outlook towards the way she does her homework and research has also changed. The Jr. MBA programme is a great idea, not just conceptually but also in its execution. It broadens the students’s horizons and develops them in ways not necessarily possible through their academic learning. The concepts, although typically for adults, are introduced to them in a manner that they can relate to. This course definitely gives them an advantage and helps prepare them for their future endeavours. I am really happy with it and I can see that my daughter, Nadia, is really benefiting from it.

Arwa was busy doing crafts after school and came up with her own currency! AC stands for Arwa Coins and AD for Arwa Dirhams. I’m interested in the Junior MBA programme because I and you can come up with ideas together. You and myself can start a business by starting off with, for example, a pair of shoes. You can probably add a feature like a rocket shoes. If you pay someone AED 10 and then you can double it for people who want it. If you don’t do well, then double it again. If you get enough money, you can make another invention and get more money or go to a different country and get more people and more money.

We learned so many things here, one time we were discussing about what happens after high school and at the end Mr. Valrani asked what is a PhD. We all guessed, but none of us got it right. So he told us that after the Masters it was a PhD. If you get a PhD it means you are going to be a doctor. I asked my dad If he got a PhD and he did, so then I realised that we were learning really, really hard stuff. I think Junior MBA is the best class in the universe!

It was an extreme honour to be the Founding Assistant Teacher of the region’s first Junior MBA programme taught in Arcadia. As much as I enjoyed teaching, I learnt a lot from every session. A 6-7 year old student presenting his/her business idea in front of the class was always a proud moment for the founder and me. ‘The Price is Right’ class activity was a super hit among the students. The programme is designed towards developing and shaping young minds to becoming future entrepreneurs.

The Junior MBA is a unique and rewarding feature of Arcadia’s curriculum. I was so happy and pleased to observe and attend the Junior MBA programme this year. The sessions were very encouraging for students to build an entrepreneurial spirit. The programme helped them get updated on computer tools and applications, described some of the basic acronyms about financing and banking, and also presented the success of Apple’s long journey to reach their current position in the market. The programme helped the students to think big and imagine their future. It taught them to be “gritty” (with passion and perseverance to achieve their long-term goals). It encouraged them to build meaningful relationships through team activities. The Junior MBA is introducing and preparing a new generation of well-rounded young businesspeople. The students love it and were enthusiastic and motivated throughout the programme.
It’s amazing to see students this age embrace the world of business and everything that comes with it. I love how excited they get when learning about spreadsheets, marketing, expenses and most of all, explaining what their incredible ideas are.
